This degreaser did a fine job even without the use of buffers. I used it with a small brush/broom. It has a pleasant clean smell. Got the floor evenly cleaned.

Works on everything but paint

(Preface: We stained our basement floor using this website's Degreaser, Etch, and Stain products. The 375 sq ft floor was 1/3 covered in hardened carpet adhesive from the prior owners.)
This brought up everything except paint. We expected it to simply be a cleaner for "dirt" - but when mixed properly with water, and with a lot of elbow grease (or our choice of a floor buffer w/black pad) it brought up hardened carpet adhesive which was otherwise not moving worth anything. The best part was that, unlike paint removers, this was also the CLEANING process, so we didn't have to remove the adhesive and *then* switch over to new materials and clean - we just did the cleaning process twice.
Got it on my hands (as with everything in this process) to no ill effects. No overwhelming odor. And finally, a little goes a very long way when diluting it.
